Minutes Meeting 23rd February 2010

Meeting Started 7.35pm

Prayer

Present: Paula Richardson, Jann Cadez, Robyn Bielaczek & Janet Cottee.

Minutes from Previous Meeting: Read by Janet Cottee accepted by Jann Cadez

Business Arising:

• Grant applications – keep reminder in minutes
• Raffle won by Don & Wendy on The Oaks and are very appreciative
• Transport monies for Jamboree have been collected from Scouts

Correspondence In:

• Census Report
• Hume Region – Letter in relation to quarterly billing – Membership fees will be $65- for Membership fees plus $35 for insurance totalling $100-
• AGM kit from Hume Region
• December bank statements fro both accounts

Correspondence Out:

• Nil

Treasurers Report:

• Books at Auditors
• Bank Balance end of December $9365.45cr – almost broke even fro year
• Need to go to bank to close Jamboree account
• Reminder notes to families will be made out for outstanding monies

Accounts for Payment:

• Electricity Bill $59.61 paid 12/1/10
• Water Bill $27.25 paid 12/1/10
• Cobbitty Scout fees $90- for Simon & David
• Hume Region quarterly fees for last year $608-

Group Leader Report:

• Cub Section going well with 22 in total with 5 or 6 new chums
• Have 6 Joeys on the books
• If we get 6 Joeys then we can start Joeys on a Tuesday night with Joey Leader Priscilla Hanley
• Have a few Cubs going up to Scouts & Leader Keiran Berryman will start Scouts in July, not sure what night yet
• Need to set an AGM date – 23rd March at 7.30pm** – need to make flyers

President’s Report:

• As per report tabled

New Business:

• Paula will approach Neil about paying his own fees as he is inactive
• Paula went to grant writing course but we really need to have a plan to have something to raise funds for – an activity or items. Robyn will ask for a “wish list” from Wayne & Keiran
• Easter Raffle – ask for donations from parents
• Scarves – Mrs Downey is having trouble finding yellow fabric fro scarves- Jann will chase up some fabric from Spotlight

Presidents Report

Ist meeting for the Year 2010

• At the end of 2009 we had a Christmas Raffle and raised some much needed funds – Refer to Treasurer for amount.
• First week back to Cubs and Scouts saw very high grown grass around the Scout Hall but I believe thanks to the Davis family for a quick mow down is appreciated … thankyou
• I am still trying to get the Council to mow it for us, but no luck yet.
• The Scout Hall light was left on the first week back & luckily I drove past 2 days later to turn it off – please be careful
• The Scouts enjoyed a weekend away canoeing at Mittagong on a very rainy weekend and last week did some water activities at Camden Pool last Thursday night for badge work
• We were asked to attend Thirlmere Steam Festival again this year to raise funds car parking for the day, unfortunately as usual parents were not willing to help out as relayed by Keiran and I very much doubt if we will be able to get it back now after saying no, but that is up to the parents, we cannot do it on our own
• I went out to the Jamboree on a visitor day, it was very hot and everyone looked tired but they enjoyed themselves and I stayed for the gang show which I was a part of once and I also met up with some old friends from Rovers from many years ago
• Thank you to Paula, Robyn, Janet and myself for last year and the year ahead
